BRAND SUMMARY: The Morado was first shown behind a
glass case as a concept cigar at the 2005 Retail Tobacco Dealers of
America trade show, but its official release was continually postponed
due to wrapper shortages and blend adjustments. When
brand owner Doug Wood was satisfied with the cigar (and had
enough wrapper to sustain the brand), he launched it in 2007. The
word morado means purple in Spanish, and the cigars come in
purple boxes. This vertical was very impressive, as no cigar scored
less than 90 points. The Cameroon wrapper and Nicaraguan blend
worked best with the Torpedo, which scored 93 points.
Average Rating: 91.3 points
